Thank you for the warm welcome, Jenny! Actually, I would love to write anything for you. I am a freelance writer by night, and obsessed with how-to's and gear and product reviews. Please let me know what I can do.
Thanks for the warm welcome Jennifer. Homegrown is a BIG site, isn't it :). It'll take me a while to find my way around. I'll try not to break anything ... umm ... expensive, in the process. I'm really looking forward to meeting all the folks here and becoming an active part of your community.
Hey Jennifer, thanks for the welcome. Anyone that is a fan of Gillian Welch is alright with me. I'm really looking forward to delving into Homegrown, I have a lot to learn and Ive already gleaned plenty. I believe in what this web site and others like it represent. Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all.
Jennifer Hello! Thanks for welcoming me to the blog/website/community! And thanks for adding my pictures to the HIGT section! I'm slowly but surely getting acquainted with the site and I look forward to contributing a little more!
Thanks for sharing all the pics Jennifer! I'm going to be adding some more pictures as I find them/take them. I have some more from spring and I'll be taking some more as my fall garden takes off! SO excited for all the resources on this website, good work!

Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for your welcome! I love Portsmouth, the city is so great! I can recommend 3 restaurants in Portsmouth that buy local, The District, Flatbread and the Portsmouth Brewery. Also, there is a restaurant that their menu is seasonal, but I don't know if they buy local. That restaurant is Four, and it's delicious! I have not eaten at Flatbread, but the other 3 restaurants are delicious! I hope that I could help! Thank you again for the warm welcome!
Hey Jennifer, there was an article about Erik and his friend Kelley in the forum section of playboy, I read the articles. His name stood out since I went to high school with a cat who had the same name and was wondering if it was him. Just Kids is a good read, tells the story of what was happening in NYC during that time. Anyway, I was curious if Erik Knutzen went to my school and ended up here. Pretty neat site.
Hi Jennifer, yes I did attend the Farm Aid concert in Hershey, PA just last weekend. I knew about Farm Aid for a long time and I'd watch the concerts on TV on the HD Music channel, but I had never been to one. I ordered tickets originally through the DMB Warehouse website not knowing that my husband was ordering directly from Farm Aid site around the same time. He surprised me with an early birthday present and my friend Stacy and I went. He stayed home to watch our 5 year old. I'm definitely still learning all the ins and outs of what to buy and what not to when it comes to food. I'm no great cook by any means, but I want to give my family, especially my daughter, the best food possible. Thanks for writing to me and I hope to be at the next Farm Aid concert because it was amazing. I love all of the artists that performed and it was just a great experience. So happy I got to see Dave and Tim again, but Willie Nelson--well I can't believe he's still so awesome at 79 years old. Thanks again :)
Thanks for the welcome and yes we did attend Farm Aid last weekend, it was a fabulous day for a VERY worthy cause!

Yes, it was a great birthday gift and my husband's pretty cool. He had to make up for buying me a washer/dryer one Christmas and a vegetable/food steamer last Christmas...ha ha ha. No, in all seriousness it was a great time and I'm with you--wish we could do it all again this weekend! I loved how Willie Nelson played with his family and his son Lukas Nelson inherited his father's talent no doubt. Just Breathe was incredible. And that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals...well I always liked her, but never heard too much other than on the Palladia channel. She has the voice of an angel and can rock with the best. Great performer, too. And ALO, another "unknown" band that kills it live. Hmmm, can ya tell I love music? Have a great weekend and thanks again for writing! :)
