The urns are made out of clay pottery. They do have holes on the bottom of them. But some people say you still need to put some sort of liner inside of them with holes? Is that true? Or can't I just place the soil in the urn seeing there is a hole on the bottom? What do you think?
I'm about to start working with http://emrousa.com/ by adding a bokashi element to my composting workshops. I try to do everything from scratch, but want to appeal to a market with large quantities of compostables (e.g. schools). My first attempt was with using the liquid from strained yogurt. I let it ferment, soaked sheets of newspaper in the liquid, sealed the newspaper in a plastic bag to let that ferment, turned my back and had moldy newspaper! I never did get to the rotting-in-a-bucket stage. Let me know your results if you give it a try!
Wow! Cornelia, thank you so much for leaving me a comment. I feel loved! I tell you what. I will take some pictures of the greenhouse now and when it's finished. I may be an octogenarian by then, but I'll do it. In the meantime, I'll tell you what I've been up to. It seems Texas is having a bumper crop of kittens this year, both feral and orphaned. So, I am fostering babies. I have 4 at the moment. Two of them just opened their eyes. They are so cute when they nurse. The little boy, an orange tabby, is such a great eater that I've dubbed him, "pumpkin", for his fat little belly. I'll have to get you some pictures.
