HOMEGROWN

Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

One of the ways that my Mom fueled our gardening interest was to let us choose a unique type of seed each year. We chose and grew unusual vegetables, cotton, gourds, and even flowers.

We hope to use this lesson from my Mom and introduce unusual seed during the Grow And Share children’s educational classes at the greenhouse…. and when we present at schools or scout troop meetings.

These are seeds we request from donors:.

  • white, yelow, or purple carrot seed
  • black watermelon seed
  • black, yellow, pink, purple, or green tomato seed
  • purple or regular spinach (need LOTS of this fast-growing seed)
  • red, purple, and regular lettuce

Will you help? If so, please purchase the seeds and ship them to Grow And Share, 70 Harrison Street, Zebulon NC 27597. For health reasons, we suggest heirloom seeds but accept hybrids and regular seeds. We do not accept GMO seed.

Looking for end of year tax deduction? We are a 501(c)(3) organization. Donate seeds (or funds) to Grow And Share before the end of 2010! We’ll get you your nonprofit donation receipt right away. Be sure to ship seeds by mid-December to ensure they arrive in time.
