It's been a long 9 weeks since we first put in an offer on the homestead we're purchasing. It's been a long process due to certain requirements of the type of loan we're obtaining. That said, the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight at last!
We're going to be VERY busy for the next 6 mos or so to be sure. So much to do I can't even list it all, but besides the contracted kitchen rehab and roof job, painting/papering, outbuilding rehab and tilling up a field are some of the firsts that come to mind. Thereafter, raising up some baby chics and building their coop, building a small goat shelter, finishing the basement (a rec room on one side, a root cellar and storage room on the other), and tearing out old livestock fencing in favor of a small pool and outdoor entertaining area.
Last week, we had quite a lot of wind. An old tree we had planned to remove anyhow happened to fall on it's own and miss the outbuilding by maybe 15 feet at most. PSHEW!
I got some wildflower seeds to scatter out front between the road and the ditch today... Can't wait til spring!
