Newbie: The Joy of Writing about Food

Hey all,

I'm Jordan and I'm new to Homegrown - I'm so thrilled I stumbled upon this site! I just started a small raised bed garden and began receiving a CSA box a few weeks ago, so this is the perfect site to ask questions and see what you all are doing. I also started a personal blog to share my summer challenge of living more locally: www.girlgonelocal.com. I am loving writing about food and agriculture as well as visiting new local businesses I never would have glanced at before. It's amazing what we can find and make so close to home! My latest post is about what I made with my first CSA box goodies. Click the picture to see my post :)

Hi, Jordan. So glad you're here—and your dishes look delish!

Welcome, Jordan! How exciting to be discovering all that local resources and CSA's have to offer!  Sometimes, CSA's will let you volunteer in exchange for a discount on the shares.  If you really love it, which Im sure you will, maybe next season volunteer with them and see it all from the ground up:) Its a very cool process!

Thank you Jennifer and Michelle! Volunteering is a great idea. I think it would be a great opportunity to learn more about farming and become even more appreciative of the food I'm eating. I always tell my fiance that someday (when we can afford to leave apartment living!) I'm just going to garden all day long :)
