Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

Hi folks! Yesterday we posted about our first-ever HOMEGROWN Fair.  We're looking for your submissions (new or old posts) to be included in the healthy competition for a few great HOMEGROWN prizes! Just post a member blog with the title "HOMEGROWN Fair Submission," or edit the title of an older post from this year to be included (be sure to change the post time and date at the bottom of the Member Blog page in order to refresh it for the competition. See screen shot below).

Submit photos, videos, recipes, instructions, and stories!

The categories for this year's Fair are:

Backyard Animals: Pets, poultry, livestock - show us photos and videos your "pet" projects. We're looking for the Best-in-Show

Plants/Gardening/Farming: Flowers, bushes, hops, raised beds gardens, vegetables, sprouts - what have you planted and grown this year?

Arts/Crafts/Photography: Fiber arts, paintings, ceramics, craft projects, sewing/quilting, photography - put your artwork on display!

D.I.Y./Skillshare: basically anything you've made with your own hands! The sky's the limit! Share your favorite skills (we've gotten posts on cleaning chicken feet for stock) and teach us how you're doing it yourself.

Canning/Food Preservation: We've got an active canning/food preservation group here, so dust off those jars and get your best preserves cooking!

Recipes: There are lots of recipes to be had on HOMEGROWN.org.  Get cookin' and submit your favorites!

The Fair is open through November.  We are celebrating another year of living HOMEGROWN, and want to see what you've accomplished! Be sure to enter for the chance to win cool HOMEGROWN prizes!
