Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

Tomorrow is the last pickup *sob* for my winter CSA from Red Fire Farm in Granby, MA and I've been meaning to share some photos and information about a very cool enterprise here in Boston called Metro Pedal Power. Their "emissions-free, pedal-powered delivery truck" drivers are braving the weather and the Boston streets to bring urban folks the stuff they crave - like locally-grown mesclun mix, celeriac and fermented pickles from Red Fire Farm.

Here's a list of what's in the final share of the season - Spring don't be a stranger!

Winter Produce:
Potatoes
Rutabagas or
Gilfeather Turnips
Onions
Parsnips
Celeriac
Popcorn or Dent Corn
Dried Cayenne Peppers
Salad Greens
Other Greens

Local Products:
Maple Syrup from Ripley's Farm in Montague MA.

Chase Hill Cheese - organic raw cow's milk cheeses from Chase Hill Farm in Warwick, MA

Definitely check out Metro Pedal Power's web site for info about their special bicycle-powered projects, too!
