I am $52 short of my goal, so I am continuing the Below the Line challenge. This week is Australia's week, but I'm keeping to the US $ limit.

My tummy's a little made at me right now. What I need are some good ideas on what to do with the dandelions! I've just been using them as salad. Does anyone have another use for them that tastes good?

Dandelion greens make a wonderful addition to soups or I sauté them with garlic, olive oil and crushed red pepper flakes then put them on a pizza crust and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan reggiano and bake until the crust is brown and crisp.

Since I'm on the once-a-week homemade pizza plan myself (OK, maybe twice a week), I LOVE the idea of a dandelion greens pizza. And I can second Karin that homemade pizza—especially on the grill—is always better with red pepper flakes. One question for you both: Are you foraging these greens? If so, do you follow any special procedures in washing them?

Sorry Jennifer - I just saw this comment. I picked them from the lawn when i lived in the country but in the city with all the lawn control treatments I either grow them or purchase them at the farmers market.

I pull mine out of the yard and give them a good rinse.
