I live and work in the city but longing for a country life. My passion is organic gardening, cooking and feeding my family the best foods possible. My goal is to retire from the corporate life and get really dirty at the farm.
Hi, Brenda. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here: site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content. I’m so glad you found us—and here here to a life goal of getting your fingernails and knuckles and elbows and ears as dirty as possible! I hope you’ll turn up plenty of projects and ideas here to spur you on, and I hope you’ll be game for sharing some of your own, too—yep, recycling counts—in our member blog, The Stew. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got a question, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
Hi, Brenda: First and most importantly, congrats! That's awesome that you've found land and even starting to think about cultivating it. My best advice would be to write a blog post (or start a discussion) and ask questions of the HOMEGROWN community. They're the experts; I'm just the herder! I will say, the more specific you can be with your questions, the more useful advice you'll get. Although I bet folks will be happy to spur you on and encourage you, too! What are you thinking about growing to start?
