I live within easy driving distance of Seed Savers. It is a BEAUTIFUL farm, just as lovely as the pictures! Their plants are all quite large, healthy, and reasonably priced. They have workshops and mini-festivals throughout the summer. If you ever...

This is our first year with square ft beds. So far, everything is lush thanks to frequent rain. Changes I will make next year include moving the zucchini and snap peas out. They really do require more space and tend to stunt anything else in their...

Mint usually doesn't reproduce well from seed. You can BUY mint seed but with the exception of Spearmint you'll just get Field mint. Join GardenWeb and check out the Exchange section. I've got Chocolate Mint to trade. It's a variety of Peppermin...

I've been too chicken. I've had the scoby stored in the fridge for ages. Probably time to give in and get a new culture.

I have SO many seeds and I'll happily give them to you after this weekend. Don't know how many people are coming to the growing center yet, but should be a beautiful warm night. I'm still planning to come down for the Green Zone event at F13 - are you going to that? I could bring them then. If you'd like them sooner, I'll mail 'em. Let me know.

Sounds good. I'd like to be around the garden this weekend to seed some spinach... maybe I'll see you there. &: we're having a chicken meet-n-greet & coop building party on Sunday afternoon if you're curious...

Yes, that's me. Do you garden there too?

The chickens: 2 rhode island reds, 2 americaunas, all sweet.
They have tail-feathers now & nearly complete wings.

I'm up for seedbombing whenever.
Do you have seed? What else do we need?

i'd love to help make a Providence seed-bombing ride happen.
i can help get seeds, make a map of places to bomb & plan a route.
if you're still interested, let's brainstorm...

Hi there- I did not take that photo-- I wish! But, I found it some time ago on the web--it grabbed me right away-- those big harvest moons always stop me dead in my tracks. So gorgeous. Anyway-- I hope I am not confusing people with my screen name-lol! If it would be better, I can change it, no problem. Well, I love this site- so happy to have found it! It's nice to meet you! Have a great day-- Aimee

Saw it Saturday! What a great film, the filmaker was such a curious spritely lady! This gave me a few ideas to bring up at a sustainable greensboro meeting. Thanks for the suggestion!

It looks like you have a good space to work with and the veggies look delicious! It's funny because I always thought that having a bigger property would make things easier but, it really does pose a whole new challenge. Regardless of where you live are how you approach gardening it's all worth it!! Sometimes it doesn't look pretty (the constant struggle on my site) but, lets face it, it takes Martha Stewart"s staff of hundreds to keep that place in order. I say go for it!
