A bit about me:
married with grown kids. Love animals of all kinds and love the country. We have 3 barred plymouth rock hens that are not quite a year old. Really sweet girls and great layers. I am very new to chicken keeping but really enjoy my girls and am hoping to learn all I can.

hey Dawn i have raised alot of birds and i have had both calm roosters and aggressive ones ...unfortunately  he sees u as a enemy to his girls and will only get worse as he ages ...he will get spurs soon which u can cut off ... but there deadly with there feet and beaks as well ... and here is what happened on the farm last Saturday

i had a hen out of the pen and i had a bantam rooster which was getting aggressive i had put him out the day before ... well long story short my daughters tried to catch the hen and the rooster attacked my 3 year old daughter ... that doesnt fly around here so needless to say theres no more bantam rooster

( in the chicken world we dont like to talk about this but cock fighting the handlers dont make there roosters mean they just are )
