A bit about me:
Pampered Chef Hostess asks group: "Each of you use 1 word to describe yourself in the kitchen"
Group answers: "Clumsy" "Microwave" "Unispired" "Pre-Packaged"
Wendi: "Always"
I have always detested pre-made foods and whenever possible cooked from scratch. I love learning WHY things work or don't work so I can actually learn.
I am not a very good gardener, and never had time or space to learn to be better. But we strive to be as organic as possible and keep the fridge full of fresh stuff.
The last of our 3 children recently moved out so we eat a lot better now. :) Cooking is easier, but still making from scratch.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Tomatoes and Basil (yes, from our garden!) sauteed with LOTS OF garlic, onion, bell pepper. Poured over organic pasta, served with Trader Joes organic rustic bread. I love summer :)
Currently reading:
Mere Christianity, and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Interesting combo, wouldn't you say?
Currently listening to:
Music on NPR
My latest DIY project:
you name it. They never stop.
How did you find HOMEGROWN.org?

Hi, Wendi. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I’m so glad you found us: We love folks who love food—and your “a bit about me” dialogue is my favorite profile entry yet (Shhh: Don’t tell the rest of HOMEGROWN)! I hope you’ll find some useful resources here; if you haven’t seen it already, we’ve got a breadmaking group you might want to join. Please don’t be shy about posting photos and stories of your DIY projects and cooking escapades in our member blog, The Stew. You can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
