Small Farmers

You are not an urban homesteader (or suburban) Your farm is more than an acre and may be hundreds of acres. You grow sustainably. You might have livestock out on grass. You sell what you sow direct to your customers via CSA, farmers markets, etc..See More

What kind of HOMEGROWN are you?
100% Homegrown, Fill in the Blank
A bit about me:
Grandchild of farmers on both sides with farming ancestry back to the 5th century, beating the economy by returning to those agrarian roots, teaching my kids and grandkids what I should have paid more attention to when my grandparents were still farming, and nuts enough to stick with it!
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Gypsy peppers stuffed with roast chicken, rice, herbs, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella pearls, and baked in a Parmesan cheese sauce. Yum!
Currently reading:
Seed catalogs, of course
Currently listening to:
The Olympics on the TV in the other room.
My latest DIY project:
ROFL! My 4.2 acre micro farm

Hi, Val. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I love it that you’ve just joined and you’re already finding your way around the site. I hope you’ll turn up some useful resources here—and I hope you’ll share photos and posts of Spirit Dog's back-to-agrarian-roots efforts in our member blog, The Stew. I’m guessing you’ve got some good stories to share. You can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
