I have been selling my preserves, Belle Jar Preserves, at farmer's makrets this summer as well as gluten free baked goodies! I've been SO busy! Not Dabbling in Normal is hosting this years Dark Days challenge, it's about eating one meal a week (or more!) of SOLE foods. Sustainable, Organic, Local , Ethical. We can do that, right?

I've been in such a funk (read blog link), when ever my mind wanders to preserving, I can only think of cranberries and pomegranates (okay, and pears), only one two of those are even remotely local to the North East..
I had a class to teach last night,this is what we made.. enjoy!

Here we are! End of Pear season, full tilt into fall. We just had a snow storm too here in the North East. What odd weather.
A week ago I taught a class on chutney and canning 101.. here are the results! ENJOY!
