I grew up on a 20-acre organic corn and soybean seed farm in the middle of what is now suburbia. I have returned to the family farm that we lease to fight for its continuation as an educational farm instead of a proposed private soccer plex.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Fennel and red pepper salad with Kuri squash/ricotta cheesecake
Women who run with the wolves and little heathens
Currently listening to:
Martha Scanlan, Bruce Molsky, Chester County River Runoff, Dead Prez, Gillian Welch, Robert Johnson.
My latest DIY project:
A home spun and died sheep fiber hat that I am knitting.
Hi, Sophia. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I’m so glad you found us—I’m guessing through Carissa? You’ll have to thank her for me! I’m so curious to hear more about the farm project you guys are working on. Is this your baby? I’ve got my fingers crossed that one of you from HOMEGROWN's new-found Potomac contingent will be game for sharing the back story on Brickyard in our member blog, The Stew. Is that something you’d be up for? In the meantime, elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
