"I have not! I was rather devastated, to say the least! I think I really screwed up the fruit to sugar ratio, and cooked it WAY TOO LONG. I was also trying to convert pounds to cups, and that was yet another factor in this tragic event.

Hello everyone!
I'm new around here, and thought I'd introduce myself!
My family and I live in central Virginia. We have had a somewhat successful kitchen garden for the last 3 years or so, growing mostly salad greens, kale, herbs and a few random other veggies. I've been trying for the last few years to master the arts of bread making and making jams and preserves. Urban foraging!
So, we made our first attempt at urban foraging last week. I discovered a crab apple tree near the library, and we went and harvested about half of what was on the tree.
I was able to successfully turn it into crab apple jelly. Delicious!
I'm so into this urban foraging idea, and want to learn more!
