A bit about me:
We just started our back yard flock this spring and right now are up to 8 chickens and 3 ducks. Also, 12 day old chicks just arrived yesterday! We love having fresh eggs and my children just love our feathered friends.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Lightly pan-friend pork chops, chicken broth/buttered rice and fresh quick steamed green beans from our garden.
Currently reading:
Phillipa Gregory's The Red Queen
Currently listening to:

My latest DIY project:
My first project will be fixing up a chicken coop we bought this summer so all of our girls can be in one house!

Hi, Sarah. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I’m glad you found us! If you haven’t come across it already, you might be interested in joining the Backyard Chickens group. I’m guessing you’ve already learned plenty since getting started this spring and might be able to weigh in on other folks’ questions (and occasionally ask one of your own). And when you fix up the chicken coop, I hope you’ll consider sharing the story and some photos in our member blog, The Stew! That’s right up the HOMEGROWN flock’s alley. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
