A bit about me:
I am a full time working mama to two wonderful kiddos! I am a wife to a wonderful husband as well!! I like to knit, cook, read, hike, yoga, ski and camp. I try to buy local and organic. I started my first vegi garden last spring so I am also an amatuer gardener. I almost forgot.... I am also learning to sew.

Hi Lori - welcome to HOMEGROWN! Knitting certainly does count as DIY. I'm just learning and will need lots of practice before I can actually make something for my 5-month-old son. :) We put together a Knitting 101 here. Please recommend other sites / videos that may be helpful. Enjoy!

Welcome to HOMEGROWN, Lori! Knitting a new hat is definitely DIY! I'm learning to knit now, and can't wait to be starting hats. 

I'm also from Connecticut - southwest of Canterbury, in Middlefield! Great to see fellow Nutmegers here!
