A bit about me:
I'm a Southern wife and mom from Georgia and I love to create great meals with fresh ingredients including homegrown veggies. I am the Executive Director of a local, in-school youth mentoring program. I have had awesome mentors in my life and enjoy sharing life, food, and experiences with others. One of my greatest mentoring moments came at about age 9 when my grandma from North Carolina took me out to pick apples ( yes climb up in the tree with ladders), bring them home, peel and cut them with a pairing knife for hours, prepare HOMEMADE pie crusts and finally BAKE and EAT the most delicious pies in the whole world!
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Baked Ham with Pineapple & Cherries
Homemade Mac and Cheese
Fresh Green Beans
Crowder Peas
Deviled Eggs
Angel Biscuits with homemade Strawberry Jam
Carrot Cake for Dessert
Currently reading:
the internet, blogs, magazines and the Bible~ too busy for a book right now

My latest DIY project:
Lately, I am collecting bottles in various shapes and sizes for table collages of herbs, flowers, etc. My daughter painted the bottles after striping them with designs using painters tape. They are unique and beautiful.
