"Our library is a wonderful resource! I've always been a library junkie ... but now that we finally have a place of our own, I suspect the librarians will become my greatest allies. Square foot gardening 2 is my latest discovery. The…"

"Hi. I'm new to the group and was wondering if someone could share a cheese recipe that didn't require cultures, rennet, etc. I am hoping to find recipes that dated back in the 1800's."
"There are some really good books at the library & I found some at the Tractor supply yesterday that have countless ideas on square ft. gardening and other micro-farming ideas. Do you want to focus primarily on plants or is your interest in…"

I'm a wife, a mama, and a grandmother who is entering mid-life with a renewed vigor to get back to the basics. It took a long time for me to truly comprehend that quality is far better than quantity. My husband & I are in the process of buying a small (almost 5 acre) place outside of town to build our last nest. We have dreams of going off-grid and raising the majority of our food, in time. I'm an uncomplicated person ... My God, my husband, my family, my critters, and my dulcimer ... makes me a satisfied woman.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Due to circumstances this past year, I haven't created any award winning meals. I enjoy making bread, canning, and trying new recipes. I collect recipe books for inspiration and am putting together a collection of my favorites to pass down to my kids.
My husband & I are huge bluegrass fans! We listen to all the old bluegrass classics and spend our date night at Gold Hill listening to the locals play. Classic Country, Southern Gospel, and R & B round out my hit list.
My latest DIY project:
I haven't had any "latest" projects in a while, but we are gearing up to remodel an old farm house in the near future.
