4 Lath houses and 125' of retaining walls allowed us to start an urban farm in the city of San Diego. Over 60 varieties of Heirloom tomatoes and assorted squash, cucumbers and peppers. We do all container gardening, over 240 total.
Hi, Lath House friends. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). I’m so glad you found us! Your lath houses sound pretty impressive; if you’re game, I’d like to chat with you about you guest-writing a Lath House 101 for HOMEGROWN. The 101s are meant to be straightforward introductions to different topics—and sometimes act as complete instructions for DIY projects. Anyway, I’ll let you noodle that while you find your way around the site. And in the meantime, I’d love it you wanted to share pictures of your lath-house-gardening triumphs in the photo gallery we call Hey, I Grew That! Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
Hiya: Those photos are beautiful! So, we try not to get too commercial or *too* self-serving here on HOMEGROWN, but I bet folks (me, included) would be interested in hearing more about what the lath houses are—including just a basic definition. Might make for a good quick and basic post in The Stew, if you're willing . . . ?
