Dreaming of someday living in the country completely sustainably, but in the meantime am living a fast paced urban life and looking for every way I can do my part to create less impact, slow things down a bit and live in harmony with nature.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Two nights ago my husband made the most amazing Jamie Oliver recipe, white beans with leeks. Then last night I made Nigella Lawson's sesame soba noodles because our daughter loves them so much. Great for school lunches!

Currently listening to:
Right now, silence and bird song. Last night whilst cooking dinner, The Dandy Warhols (thirteen tales from urban bohemia)
My latest DIY project:
Buying old halved whiskey barrels which were so heavy I had to wait until my husband got home to get them out of the car (my car smelled like a whiskey distillery for days afterward). Drilled holes in the bottom and lined them with heavy plastic sheeting, which was so tricky I swore I would never buy whiskey barrels again, but I do love the way that they look and that they are recycled.
Hey Kirsty , Welcome to Home grown .I too grow in wiskey and wine barells I like the smell at first. I have six of them in my greenhouse for growing tomatoes, cucumbers and babygreens .And I'm going to try beans in the greenhouse this year hoping for a better crop.
