What kind of HOMEGROWN are you?: Earth Mama, Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker

A bit about me:: Grown food all my life, learned from my father. Times I could not have my garden, I shopped area farm stands, and now look at the options. I have always been into my food and what we eat, and have learned allot, and want to learn more.

Latest greatest meal cooked at home:: Say many to say....Thanksgiving 2010, I served strictly American (we are quite Italian), a hormone free Turkey (locally sourced) one roasted and one slowed cooked on the Weber, but this was the first year I included serveral vegetarian options for my Son-Sheppards Pie, wild mushroom dressing, mac and cheese-we all had a wonderful time!

Currently reading:: Several retro cookbooks circa 1950-1955, all thin paperback and fantastic.

Currently listening to:: WXRT Chicago, XM radio classic rock, new wave, classic rewind, lithium, modern jazz, bluegrass county. Love Johnny Cash, Talking Heads and the Who.

My latest DIY project:: Just canned Jalapeno Bread and Butter Pickles: Grew the peppers and got the cucumbers from our friend Susan. Now I have been told I make some killer BBPs, and will be breaking open a jar of the Heaven and Hells soon, will report back.
