Hi Kathleen! Welcome to Homegrown. I'm Karin, I have always wanted to learn more about mushroom harvesting. My dad knew which ones were safe and delicious but I never really caught on. Maybe i can learn about them through your posts if you are willing to share information.
I see you guys are involved in the Farmers Market. When we moved here I had just started my own mfg business, cooking and bottling my own award winning BBQ sauce. It's called "Ol'Hippie Gourmet BBQ Sauce" I stopped bottling about two years ago, as the cost just became too much, but still dabble. We did the farmers market down there for several years as well as many of the events around the area, like the Azalea Festival, Blackberry Festival, and the farmers market in Coos Bay.
We also love to hunt wild mushrooms and around here it is almost a must-do, too bad we don't have Morel's close by !!
Hi, Kathleen. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here: site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content. I’m so glad you found us—and I love that you’re finding your way around the site already! Sounds like you and your husband are certainly 100 percent HOMEGROWN. Can’t wait to hear more about your farm and any new ideas that you’ve brought to your local farmers market. I hope you’ll turn up plenty of projects and ideas here to spur you on, and I hope you’ll be game for sharing some of your own, too—especially that from-scratch cream of wild rice soup recipe—in our member blog, The Stew. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
