A bit about me:: dropped out of urban life in 1969 to learn about living in the country, gardening, raising a family. Stumbled upon ecology & practical mechanicking.

Latest greatest meal cooked at home:: Tonight- leftovers from a neighbor's free-range chicken (part payment for labor), mixed into sauteed home-grown greens, our onions, some chanterelles I found in the woods yesterday, fresh-dug spuds (ours) and chicken gravy (imported salt & pepper, regionally local organic milk & butter)

Currently reading:: latest issue of "High Country News"

Currently listening to:: mostly KBCS tonight- some celtic then some um, "wild & free" stuff (after 11PM)
most days KUOW NPR talk/news w/ a little BBC & CBC thrown in

My latest DIY project:: I'm cleaning seed to grow Mountain ash (Sorbus spp) for a small USFS revegetation project (along with Pacific yew, huckleberries, a few other species)
