Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker, Fill in the Blank
Fill in the blank:
I am an artist - jack of all trades, master of FINE ART
A bit about me:
I am 50 (just last week!), I have been living by God's Grace for 4 years - no regular work - but selling art and getting involved in community - I began organizing a worker cooperative grocery store for a food desert neighborhood in Denver, CO 9/11, and have a project going. I also own 3.78 acres of land in Saguache Cty, CO and as yet don't have the money to dig a well there, but there are 3 water permits on the land and there is water underground - it is desert ish land - only thing growing on it is sage brush - no trees - but it is MINE... and the plan is - hippie commune - earthship and garden - as my friend owns about 15 acres more ... I joined a permaculture community garden last year - still know very little ... it is 3 hours from Denver, so not sure how that will work out in the long-term but if things continue to spiral downward w the economy, I see moving there permanently as an option.... offgrid...
Hi, Joanna. Welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I'm the flock tender here (site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content). First things first: Happy birthday! And congrats, too, on making your own way. Sounds like you’re involved in all kinds of thoroughly interesting endeavors—challenging, to be sure, but to paraphrase you (and Woody), that land is your land! Please keep us updated on the co-op and on plans for your property. One way to do so is by posting in our member blog, The Stew. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you’ve ever got questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. So glad you’re here and a part of Calamity Jane’s group. It should be fantastic!
