"Maybe try a mini garden at your place. Do you have space or a balcony or even a rooftop? Select foods you would like to eat. Some tend to thrive; others can be crop failure. That is just part of learning what works for you. Container gardens are…"

"A lot of extension services have a Master Gardener course. You would go to classes on gardening, flowers, veggies and etc., than put your new knowledge to work doing community projects in your area."

Looking for some advice...

Well I am a newbie to this site, I just found it. I realized that it might be the link to put me in the right place at the right time. I desire to be self sufficient to the fullest but living in the city and not knowing anyone to learn from, it makes it just a tad bit more difficult to be successful. I came to this site to learn and I absolutely know I will just by reading, but I want to actually get some feild training, I want to do the dirty work... but I don't know where... I want to help…See More

What kind of HOMEGROWN are you?
Fill in the Blank
Fill in the blank:
I'm a baby at all of this, I admire it and want to become 100% homegrown but at the moment I need the guidance and the who, what, when, where, and how. I'm a city girl with a country heart and all I need to be shown is the way... oh please help me help me help me :)
A bit about me:
well my whole life I've been in the city and taken care of, I never had to grow my own food or raise my own animals, go fetch water from a well, or ever eaten freshly grown food. I very badly want this independence and am really looking for that person to take me under their wing and teach me all i can get lol for an exchange for some dirty work of coarse lol. Though honestly i have never stepped foot on a farm in my life but at this point in my life and this ache in my heart from not doing so, I know this is what is next in my life.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
honestly I just got back from my first year in college and since I've been home and not living on my own I can't even remember the last great meal I've cooked... sad
Currently reading:
The bible :D
Currently listening to:
I was listening to some gospel musicians by the names of: Saylah, Sho Baraka, and Francesca Battistelli.
