Chickens: to order birds or eggs?

I've sent off for a catalog, though I will most likely order online. Thing is, I can't decide if it's better to order chicks, eggs, or pullets. Well, no. Pullets cost too much to ship. So, chicks or…Continue

Can I?

"Can I clean out the garage gutters, Mommy?"I let him. He took a box with him to fill one of the planters, filled it, and planted the Alaska peas. So now the pot on top of the chicken house is planted. We both agreed that the two behind the garage are too heavy for us to move, so I'll have to see if the recalcitrant one will put them somewhere more convenient.See More

"Lol, yeah! Today is very breezy of the cold variety. I'm kinda thinking there are gonna be limbs and sticks to pick up by the time it's done. Possibly some minor repairs as well."

Live Below the Line 2014, garden progress

https://www.livebelowtheline.com/me/jmfI am doing it again this year! Not too sure how much of my garden produce is going to make it into the mix (though pretty sure radishes will be up enough!), but the eggs are a definite ingredient to my meals!Corn, 3 kinds of pumpkin, and zucchini have just been direct seeded into the new plot. Jasper helped plant the sweet corn.See More

"Will do. May wait until Mum says they are preparing to shut it down. Teacher that runs it generally adds one or two plants anyway, when it gets to that time of the season, you can sometimes wind up with a free flat worth of plants."

"Yes, we did, but not nearly as much as the forecast said, and it was mostly gone by noon. My little green things apparently decided it was a school snow day, and enjoyed themselves in it instead of crapping out on me."

Boners are awesome!

And your mind went straight to the gutter didn't it?Pat Boner fixes my computers. Chris Boner and his boys tend to do the yardwork once I give up on my children.Today, Chris and one of his boys, Mason, came over. They finished the tilling for the corn/squash area - along with fixing the cultivator I didn't realize was broken because it's been like that the whole time I've owned it - and cleared 2.5 beds and three of the paths of the sewer project dirt. I had Mason leave the last half of the…See More

"Jennifer - That sounds tasty. I tend to buy cherry vodka or cinnamon schnapps - I find they both work to help reduce the coughing and help me sleep. Which means I should probably go grab the bottle. My eyes have been trying to sleep since 2pm, but…"

Fill in the Blank
Fill in the blank:
I can grow weeds! Food is harder.
A bit about me:
My gardens yearly produce a vast quantity of weeds (sometimes taller than I am), and occasionally some foodstuffs. Awesome gardener, I am not.

I am, however, a decent cook.

And I would have picked "I'm a robot" from the drop-down menu below, but my programming requires frequent chocolate updates.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Well... we had a grill party. Deviled eggs, banana pudding (yes, the variety with the vanilla wafers), potato salad, coleslaw (the only bought, not made, item), baked beans (the only thing that came out wrong) and from the grill: pork chops, chicken breasts, hot dogs, hamburgers, peppers, corn, asparagus, and naturally, marshmallows. I may have missed something.
Currently reading:
Actually, I am currently writing, so all the reading is the stuff I'm revising.
Currently listening to:
The furnace not coming on even though I'm cold. (It's December.)
My latest DIY project:
Ohhhh, let's see. I am debating projects. I have a fridge to turn into a raised bed, a garden to completely tear apart due to having learned most of the beds were on top of the sewer line (one was completely on it, four others ran over it), a front porch to fix, a back porch to turn into a bedroom, a chicken run to improve, a sidewalk to clear, a patio to clear... and a nap to take.

More seeds!

Also, I got 4 more packets of seeds today. Caserta squash, which is apparently some type of zucchini (all hail zuke bread and zuke cake!), curshaw green striped pumpkin, golden beauty corn, and pak choi white stem chinese cabbage. I may actually have to till up a lot more of the yard than I thought, and rearrange some of the planned potted plants that haven't been potted yet.

Did I mention that the fishtank now holds - yes, I did. Okay. Good then. I'm not too sure it's…
