Fill in the blank:
A Little Bit of This & That
A bit about me:
I grew up with some great homegrown influences and wish beyond all to keep those going. Serving in the US Peace Corps in Romania just added to those influences and helped me become MUCH more into self-sustainability. The trick now is to keep that up as I move on to the next steps in life - wherever those take me....
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Though my husband and I did not celebrate Thanksgiving at home this year, I still prepared a meal for the sake of left-overs! :D The turkey found itself in an oven bag with truffle butter under its skin which kept it awfully succulent. I thought I would also try my hand at dressing which meant cubes of french bread with pistachios, paprika, turkey stock (from the turkey bones!), an egg, sage...and who knows what else! I just kept putting tasty goodies in there!! While I was at it, I decided to make some cranberry orange jelly which turned out to set up just perfectly - even in the absence of a food mill (which is on the Christmas list!)! Seems I've also been on a candy roll and whipped up some layered peppermint bark using both dark and white chocolate as well as another batch of pumpkin walnut fudge! 'Tis the season!!
Currently reading:
Jean Auel - Earth's Children series (on book 3 now)
Currently listening to:
The goodness that is radioparadise.com :D
My latest DIY project:
Lots of crocheting to be had about these parts. Also, a little early Christmas present of an Aerogarden so I can finally have some fresh herbs & cherry tomatoes!!
