"This weekend I dried oregano, parsley, green onions and cilantro in my dehydrator. Also for the first time made three quarts of bread and butter pickles! From cucumbers that I grew myself! WOOHOO!"

"What is the difference between pickling cucumbers and the regular ones that you grow in your garden? I want to make bread and butter pickles for the first time."

"My mother in law used to always have a jar of peeled hard boiled eggs soaking in soy sauce in the fridge. Great simple addition to your meal or as a snack."

What kind of HOMEGROWN are you?
100% Homegrown, Fill in the Blank
Fill in the blank:
Always learning....
A bit about me:
Wife (met my husband 30 years ago and have been married for 28 years to him), mom of two (and a third God daughter) twenty somethings who are both engaged to awesome people.....grandma of three adorable little boys. Such a DIY'er. Every thing from crocheting, to painting as in home improvements. LOVE books. But real stuff. Know how to books. Downsized 6 years ago and loving it. Smaller homes are way better. Learning how to grow a garden the last 5 years.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
All of them are! We never get take out. So much cheaper and better. I like to make Chili, Soups, and casseroles. Getting ready to dehydrate food. Never have done it before. It's my thing to learn how to do this year.
Currently reading:
The Dehydrator Bible, The Self=Sufficient LIfe and How to live it.
Currently listening to:
Aerosmith.... yes I'm a total rocker!
My latest DIY project:
One of my kids and his family just moved out on their own so I turn that room into a guest room. Patching walls and painting. Taking things I had and spray painting them to reuse them in a different way.
