New to gardening and obsessed. This year was my second season. I started with one 60 sq ft garden last year, moved to three gardens covering over 200 sq ft this year, and we are building a greenhouse this next week for extended growing season! Did I mention, obsessed?
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Fresh caught catfish from a local lake, homegrown okra sauteed with store bought tomatoes/onions, homegrown blackeyed peas and a great glass of wine! The whole meal cost me $8 with the wine. (I buy it by the case, turns into $5 a bottle)

Hello, Gena, and welcome to HOMEGROWN! My name is Jennifer, and I’m the flock tender here: site updater and tweaker, feeder and waterer of content. (I’m also a native Texan with lots of family up near DFW, so you’ll have to tell me what lake you go fishing in!)
I’m very slowly working my back through the folks who joined HOMEGROWN in the last month or two to say a belated hello and how glad I am you found us. I hope you’ll turn up plenty of projects and ideas here to spur you on, and I hope you’ll be game for sharing some of your own, too—more about your garden expansion, your shed, and your greenhouse, please!—in our member blog, The Stew. Elsewhere on HOMEGROWN, you can always find the latest additions to the site at the top of the homepage, and if you ever need help finding your way around, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment on my profile page or shoot me a message. I hope you feel right at home!
