Gale Green replied to Cornelia's discussion '"Getting Started With Chickens" A Q&A with beloved author of "Chick Days", Jenna Woginrich' in the group Backyard Chickens
"I'm living in Dallas for a short time, but, most recently I've had Americauna's, Plymouth Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, an Arucana bantam, Black Cochin's, a Red Cochin, and a pair of Silver Spangled Seabrights--one of which was…"

Gale Green replied to Cornelia's discussion '"Getting Started With Chickens" A Q&A with beloved author of "Chick Days", Jenna Woginrich' in the group Backyard Chickens
"Hi--I love these discussions! Rachel, about your comment on the "hen" who began to crow (item 2. in your initial list) just this comment: I had a flock of 10 hens, mixed standard size and bantams. They were all egg laying hens. In the…"

What kind of HOMEGROWN are you?
Earth Mama
Fill in the blank:
WYSIWYG
A bit about me:
Quite a bit of experience raising chickens and rabbits; moderate experience raising vegetables; beginning to learn how to live "green" in a large city! I love animals, and life.
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Vegetable loaded spaghetti sauce over spaghetti squash.
Currently reading:
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin--not to be missed!!!
Currently listening to:
Wind in treetops, birds singing Spring territorial songs, computer keys clicking, my heart.
My latest DIY project:
Learning to live in a large city (Dallas)--to learn where the whole food stores are, where is that Farmer's Market!, trying to find a community garden to be part of, and realizing that learning patience is a byproduct of focusing on kindness in the current moment.
How did you find HOMEGROWN.org?
Mother Earth News, "Basic Country Skills" link
