Moved to Manitoulin island, ran away from the city. Surviving on a 2000sq ft garden. Our diet has been 10 mile diet for about a year now!

oven baked whitefish with fresh roma tomatoes, swiss char, and new potatoes with butter and yarrow

In One Year...

So, we have been away from the city for exactly 15 months! We finally snapped and got out of the rat race. In one year we learned to bake the perfect loaf of bread. Made pickles for the first time. Piled and chopped 20 chord of wood. I learned to crochet and starting to knit. Made a garden plot that is so well protected by barbed wire that it frightens small children. Taught the dog how to pull Trout and Salmon from the River, then taught myself how to clean said fish. Made syrup and jam. Ate… Continue
