This past winter was the first for my flock of chickens. The previous spring I hatched them in my house and raised them in a kids plastic swimming pool until the weather warmed up enough that they could move outside to their newly built coop. They spent the entire summer grazing in the yard, taking dust baths, and enjoying scraps from the kitchen. What a life!That is, until we received RECORD snowfall this past winter. - A bit about me:
- I've spent the past five years working all sorts of different farms around New England and in Italy, learning how to grow vegetables, small fruits, meat, eggs, dairy, wine, and all sorts of good foods. There's nothing I love more than eating afresh, locally grown meal. So much so that I'm turning my passion for agriculture into a career and have begun searching for a farm of my own.
