Earth Mama, Dirt Under My Fingernails City Slicker
A bit about me:
I've been dabbling in starting fruits and veggies from seed in our backyard for several years, but with little to no success. Now we have a toddler, I am unemployed, and we resort to eating inexpensive, processed foods from the store. If ever there has been a time to take seriously growing our own healthy, delicious food, this is the time. (Not just for the reasons mentioned above, but their systemic implications.) I have been unsuccessful so far--I need help!
Latest greatest meal cooked at home:
Ummm...frozen lasagna from Costco.

My latest DIY project:
Attempted to plant and grow (with my daughter) a variety of veggie seeds from the 1$ store. Planted seeds for cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, & carrots--each in containers hanging above dog-peeing level along the fence. (We also have limited space.) After sprouting tiny leaves, only the cucumber plant has remained.
