Photo shows new, 4' W x 8' L x 11.5" D raised bed made of two courses of 2" x 6" red cedar boards. A well-established (20+ years) 6' W x 12' L x 11.5" D bed appears in the background. New bed does not yet have soil, and is shown with removable tubing frame for a greenhouse or netting. The side and end rails are reinforced with galvanized spikes to prevent bowing. The head of the spike also serves as the anchor for the PVC tubing. The beds get all-day sun.
