Greenhouse from recycled windows-garden side

this is the other side of the greenhouse. we were lucky to get 2 of the heaving sliding windows so that we could "easily" make the greenhouse symmetric. with donated windows, this is very, very lucky!

Hey, my folks are currently accumulating a bunch of windows for this very same project. What's the inside temp in winter? Do you have 3 seasons or 4 with this setup? Thanks.

This is likely a 3 season greenhouse. The past few weeks we had some 30-ish degree days, and we set up a portable heater...which managed to keep the temperature high-30s to mid-40s. Likely in winter we won't use it as we don't want to use the electricity to run the heater all the time! :-)

Good luck to you and your folks on your project. We did a bunch of planning to make the various donated windows fit! We cut out "scale model" pieces of graph paper that represented the windows. So, a 28 inch by 40 inch window (or whatever) became a 28-square by 40-square piece of graph paper! We then had "paper windows" to lay out on the table and try to find ways to make the different sizes of windows fit together in equal sized walls. It was a trip!! But, when it came time to put the windows together, it was easy to grab the right window for the right spot!

We are so happy with this greenhouse! Today is November 18th and we still have a yellow pear tomato growing 1" tomatoes, and two bell pepper plants growing [small] bells! Today it was cool in there, but this past week when it was sunny, it had to have been more than 70 deg in there. We are keeping the plants in there and "experimenting" to see how long they will produce before the weather gets to them.
