This field of a little over an acre (one of many on this 250 acre hideaway high up in the rain forest just outside Friedericksted) had been left ignored for years. It had acquired a hefty amount of debris from greenhouse poles to rotting wood and beams, as well as dense guinea grass over 5ft tall and numerous other shrubs and trees. A group of us cleared it out and planted the entire hillside. It is now a thriving productive plot with vegetables, greens and herbs. A plentiful bounty for the next generation to come. Nice! We had to starve!!!
