Documentaries are holding a more prominent place in theaters and local video stores around the country and I find myself drawn more and more to those centered around food issues. Two I've seen most recently are The Future of Food and The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil. Both of these are from Iron Weed Films a great source for Independently made documentaries. Each film jump-started me to get serious about gardening, from the apprehension of what is in our food system, to the inspiration of what Cubans in urban areas were able to do to build their local food economy.
