Beet sprouts?! DANG!!! I have not gone out to Garden #1 to check them (now I'll be worrying til I go out and look!). I also have some new Chard that is up and I suppose same will apply to them.

Roses and peonies look like they've melted.....it's a dismal scene but I'm gonna take some photos anyway.

I planted 2 flats of broccoli, both heirloom, and they're doing really well. I did plant later than normal and each flat was planted about 2 weeks apart. I was on Lyme medication and it made me very sun-sensitive. So far, though, none of the broccoli has buttoned at all. Yet.....

With the weather report here, I decided to paint our bedroom today. And so now that I'm committed to this project, the sun is shining. I can't win.....

I'll have to check your blog to see what is up at your place. I've not been online much at all, shame on me.

Comment by Carol J. Alexander on May 18, 2011 at 10:53am: Lynn, I've had plenty of success planting my potatoes late so I wouldn't worry about that. But I'm concerned for the ones that are planted rotting in the mud. Also, the rain has washed down my new beet sprouts. Not sure they'll make it.

How's your broccolli? Around here everyone's has buttoned too early.

Comment by Lynn S on May 18, 2011 at 8:34am: Anyone else frustrated with all of the rainfall we've had? Yesterday's rain measured 2.1 inches in our gauge! Our stream was whitewater and ready for the kayak!

Four rows of newly planted potatoes were partly washed out due to the downpour that produced runoff from the main road. In 24 years here, that's never happened before. I doubt the potatoes do well this year since they've been planted so late and half of our potato seed hasn't even gotten into the ground. Sheesh!!
