Does anyone in the SF area know of a community garden in the South Beach, Rincon Hill, Mission Bay area? I moved from St. Louis in April and live in a small studio apartment with no balcony and would love to find a way to garden close to me.

If you're looking to get some dirt under your fingernails come volunteer with us tomorrow at the Garden for the Environment at 7th ave and Lawton St anytime between 10 and 3. We will be transplanting strawberries and weeding oxalis, among other delightful gardening tasks.

Hi SF Bay area homesteaders!

I'm looking for a studio, inlaw, cottage, room, etc to rent. I live inS F but want to move to the East Bay (or somewhere in the city of SF with a garden space) to save money and to 'get back in the groove' of things.

Do you know of anyone in need of a roommate or a renter?

I'm a graduate student studying nonprofit management and museum studies. A non smoker, musician, storyteller, loves to bake bread and make jam, and weave, and ride bicycles.
I'm w/out pets, although I adore animals.

Clean, responsible, and respectful.

Welcome to Greywater Action's first newsletter!
This month there has been lots of momentum building around greywater. San Fransico's Building Inspections Commission voted in support of the new state greywater code , making it easy for people to build simple, low-cost systems without permits (these systems must follow health and safety guidelines outlined in the code). Also, Greywater Action completed our first five day training for installers, and are getting ready to do a second one in Los Angeles next week. Read about some of our first graduates.

A flawed draft of the Environmental Impact Report for the Calaveras Dam project released by the San Fransisco Planning Department is proposing to rebuild the dam in a manner that is incompatible with restoring steelhead below the dam.Tell the planning department to include steelhead restoration in the proposal. A message that come through the Greywater Guerillas - though they do not specifically endorse the Aqus technology:

Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) is planning to conduct a small pilot
study of the “Aqus” From Water Saver Technologies. The device takes water
from the bathroom sink and pumps it into the adjacent toilet tank. Info

CCWD is planning to install 3 to 5 of the devices in our treated water
service area, which includes Concord, Clayton, Clyde, Martinez, and parts
