Hey, Portlanders! Holidays are over, grey days are here...and so are our favorite catalogs! Seed-porn time, my partner and I call it. What's your favorite (I love Burpee because it's so colorful, even though we get seeds from heirloom places). What are you planning?

Hi Portlanders Gardening People, of which there are 8 others,

I've just arrived here and am doing a mid-summer planting. I've heard that alpaca manure is great for the soil, ready to use and doesn't stink or need to break down further before use because of the double stomach effect that llamas have. Anyways, the farmer I talked to recommended spreading it about 4" thick on the top of the soil. If anyone would like to do this, share a truck-load with me and HAS A TRUCK, please drop me a line.

Hey! The sub-irrigated containers are working. I'm growing food! I'm very pleased. This is my first year gardening and wow, what wonderful results!

Burgerville is actually pretty spendy for fast food. I still like them though. :) I'd say check out the food cart scene if you're looking for cheaper and good options. Cheers!

We're building an online tour guide for bands on the road...would you add Burgerville to the list? Where else would you send hungry broke musicians for a righteous nosh?
