I started using jojoba oil as a moisturizer at night, but it can't seem to compensate for how dry my crappy soap (yes, I used soap. Bad!) was making my skin. Gonna grab some castor oil and see how it works. I'm starting the no 'poo method soon too. I'll look around the discussion board to see what various types of no 'poo methods folks are using. Yay!

Comment by Tory on April 1, 2010 at 12:09am: while I'm still using some commercial cosmetics I just started doing OCM - The oil-cleansing method. I had read about it here on Simple Mom and I'm loving it. After the first application I knew this was going to work for me. Another thing I'm about to do is go no 'poo. I have my baking soda and water mixture in a bottle in the shower ready to start tomorrow morning. It feels absolutely liberating to be ditching commercial cleansers! Woo hoo!

I had one tub of the store-bought kind with a paragraph of ingredients listed on it for almost a year. After I ran out I looked around the pantry to see what I could use: grapeseed oil + sea salt was amazing! I couldn't stop touching my face the next day, it felt so smooth and soft. Recommend!
