Do you plant any herbs with your veggies. I know basil is good growing next to tomatoes. Got any good herbs that work well? How about those that don't work well together with other plants.
Do you use herbs to deter pest?

Often if something tastes good together, they grow well together. Funny how that works! Onions and potatoes for instance or as you mentioned, tomatoes and basil.
Calendula is an excellent companion in your garden as is any aromatic herb. I plant lots of different aromatic herbs on the border of my garden as a deterent as well as in-between my beds. Chamomile has always been said to help enhance the growth of other plants in it's 'hood'. I love planting medicinals as my companions because then well...you get to reap the benefits of the medicine as well!
Good growing to you!
I planted garlic next to the broccoli. I read that it discourages insects. Also garlic and potatoes do not go well close to each other. This is my first time planting garlic. I hope it does well.

I've googled "companion planting" and gotten many good resources.
