Hey, Aliza! No, she's part of a newer mated pair that we've been taking care of so we're hoping they're fertile, and we get chicks! So, supposedly 21 days we'll have new babies (give or take, lol)

Erin- I'm guessing she is broody about unfertilized eggs? If you don't want her sitting on the eggs, we've found that it's effective to put the hen in a separate enclosed area for 3 days to a week, which calms her down and she's no longer broody.

Anyone else feel kinda sad that the chicks are big enough to nest? Sure doesn't seem like they are that old, lol

Does any one know where to find vets that take care of chickens? I live in Plymouth, MA and I really would like to have a vet all lined up should I ever have a chicken to get sick. Anyone in the area that knows where to find a good chicken vet please chime in. Thanx.

Aw Meredith, sorry to hear about the young broody hen but new ducklings are a great consolation prize! These little peepers make my day every day. So adorable! They grow so fast though, they're barely two weeks old and already have changed from round little fuzzies to duck-looking fuzzies. I tried to take their photos this morning and this one was one of the better ones:
