With nothing more than a pipe cutter and a half inch wrench/socket you can build a sturdy weatherproof table/stand that will support a lot of weight and can be left outdooors in the weather. A typical 2 foot by 4 foot table that is 40 inches tall costs about $75 in parts to make. The metal part is made up of Chainlink fence toprail pipe and clamps for same. A couple casters/wheels and a little lumber and the project is finished. The project can be modified in an infinte number of configurations by a novice. Buy the parts at a place that sells the fencing will result in the lowest cost. For planning purposes a 10 foot pipe costs about $10 and a clamp costs $1. The basic table uses 20 clamps and 4-5 10ft pieces of pipe. The casters cost about $5 (bigger the better for rolling over cracks in concrete...). The rest is just screws & wood (use big screws so it will be strong!).

The beer brewing stand in the picture is strong enough to hold 30 gallons of liquid and 60lbs of grain plus all the equipment shown (about 500lbs).
