HOMEGROWN

Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

Dinner tonight was Spanikopita and salad with Black bean soup.  The spinach and onions were this mornings harvest.  Salad greens were from our First Light Farm CSA basket.  Kohl Rabi, raddish and carrots were from the garden, along with fresh cilantro.  The broth for the soup was made from veggies from the CSA basket and some from our garden.

What did you cook up?

OH, that all sounds so lovely! All that's popping up from my soil is micro arugula from thinnings and sprouts in a jar :( C'mon summer, you can't get here fast enough!
I did fish out a very sprouty-looking rutabaga from my winter CSA share in February - shredded it into a salad for lunch. :)
Last night we had some stir-fry with garden snap peas and my first garlic. It was awesome.
