Thinking to replace the circuit board from glass fuses to breakers

I am about to move into a home in Toronto that has some electrical issues. Aside from some small electrical issues, the main thing I want to do is to replace the circuit board from glass fuses to breakers.

I do not want to spend a lot of money.

How much would this cost roughly? I have 100 amp fuse panel and want a 100 amp breaker panel. I am also planning to upgrade the electric panel from 100 amp from an emergency electrician in Toronto so that my house will be protected from fire hazards that are caused by overload circuits. Is it very expensive?

When I discussed it with my neighbour, he had a rather disappointing reply. He told that he cannot give an estimate or a fair price on a project with so many variables. Depending on the type and age of your house wiring, you may need additional work and just remember good electrical works are not cheap and cheap electrical works are not good, you get what you pay for.

I would like to know the average estimate before fixing an electrician. Can anyone help me?
