Has anyone processed their homegrown items for baby food and if so how did you do it. I have an onslaught of summer squash and would love to get real nutrients into my infant. He is already eating some table food like mash potatoes and sweet potatoes. Any advice or website that would help would be great.
Facebook comes through again! Christene, this is the most common method for making baby food. I know parents who swear by it. Pack the freezer and forget the jarred stuff!

I have made homemade baby food for both my kids and they love it! I find the best way for us is to make the food, puree to the desired consistency, then freeze in ice cube trays. When frozen, I pop the cubes out and place into labeled con...tainers. It's easy to take out 3-4 cubes for each meal for the following day each evening and defrost in the fridge. It is ready to go by breakfast time. You may want to leave some foods in larger chunks for when the baby gets a bit older and is ready for texture and finger food. Good luck."
I used to make homemade baby food when my kids were little. I'd blanch things that needed it, like green beans. Then just freeze. This seemed to soften the veggies enough that all I had to do what squash them with a fork. The ice cube trays are a great idea, but I had trouble cleaning them up afterward. I used little plastic containers instead.
