Celebrate the culture of agriculture & share skills (Growing! Cooking! Eating!)

OK, let's get organized in here! I've got pints of apple butter and dilly beans - who wants to swap what they've got? I'd love some dill pickles, or some kind of fruit preserves - cherry jam! Whatcha got?

**11/13 Update** Aliza and I have come up with an idea: Whomever would like to join in a swap for the holidays should comment here. In a few weeks, on, let's say, December 7th people will be randomly assigned a swapping "partner". You will then exchange addresses privately and send each other a box of preserved goodies.
So far, we have the following swappers:
Jessica White
Rachel Fowler
Magpie Ima
John C. Scott
Emily Soulliere
Janice Kubo
Janis Freeman
Maria Jett
Blue Sandefur
Steve Racz
Cindy Whittaker Putnam
Chef Edmund Patrick/aka Hobokeneddie
Ellen C
Charles Hudson
Kim Bennett

I'll update this list as people leave their comment. Fun!

I've got White Guava canned in agave nectar syrup in a few pint jars... Magpie's preserves sound heavenly.
I bake breads and such....anybody interested?
I'd like to join too! I can offer apricot, blackberry, or rasbperry jam; crabapple butter; pear preserves; sweetheart cherries (pit still in); peaches; pears; applesauce (no sugar) & dill pickles.

I'd love some tomatillo salsa, (I'm not even sure you can can that.) but really, I'll take anything that isn't already on my list!
I'm in...No idea what I make or share but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea!!
Hmmm, I'm really interested in barter. A couple of things though, I am in New Zealand and it is spring here, so not much of anything from the garden yet. I could exchange some hand made wooden spoons made from indigenous trees (rimu) for say, some interesting heritage seeds. You can see a couple of spoons I have made recently here http://lumberjocks.com/projects/12479
This is a wonderful idea and I would live to take part in it. We make granola and soap. different flavors and different scents. Anyone interested in granola and soap? I"ll swap for anything, I love handmade/homemade.

I'd love to swap some art and recipes.
Both are homemade and fresh organic inspirations.
I work for a small biz that sells watermelon rind pickles in addition to other chutneys and sunchoke relish. We like to use them in diced our tuna salads and tartar sauce or finely shredded under sashimi and garnish for savory/dirty martinis or bloody marys. Mmmm.

I have a lot of relish made from watermelon rind, banana peppers, tomatoes, and onions. It's sour, sweet, and a little spicy.

I haven't been able to come up with very many recipes using the relish though.. any ideas? The only thing I've been able to think of is eating it with cheese and crackers. It might be nice on top of a good sausage.. perhaps if I make a veggie sausage or something?
I'm in... I have canned homemade hot peppers , honey and molasses... iI would love some jellies.
Yay! I've posted an ad for the swap on my blog: http://baltimorediy.blogspot.com/2009/11/canning-swap.html
